The travelers carry household goods and greet one another with the energy of restoration, presenting the biblical homecoming after the Babylonian captivity. The scene reflects the decree recorded in Ezra, when the Lord stirred the spirit of Cyrus and moved the exiles to go up to Judah and rebuild the house of the Lord in Jerusalem.
