Wicked tenants gather among baskets of harvested grapes inside a vineyard, turning their attention toward a lone rider approaching across the fields. A stone structure, vine trellis, grape clusters, and scattered leaves frame the moment as the laborers guard the fruit that belongs to another. The scene portrays Jesus’ parable of the wicked husbandmen, in which tenant farmers refuse the owner his harvest, abuse his servants, and finally plot against his beloved son, the heir.

The parable exposes rebellion against God’s rightful authority and points toward the rejection of Christ. The vineyard recalls Israel’s covenant calling, the fruit represents faithful obedience, and the rejected son foreshadows the suffering of Jesus.
